About
Sub-Culture, the dark side of Shanghai’s Uprooted Sunshine Soundsystem, was established in 2007. Originally a straight up Dubstep night, Sub-Culture has evolved and mutated into something much bigger. Joining together good, bass heavy music, art and cinema, we try and bring something different to Shanghai. We host a monthly party at The Shelter, a weekly cinema night at Dada bar, a weekly radio on udancecn.com, occasionally host work shops and exhibitions with guest speakers and artists, and for many of our events we cooperate with Idle Beats, Shanghai’s independent screen-printing studio, to produce something a little bit more than just an events poster.
This blog has been put together not only to tell people about what we have been doing and what we are going to, but also to simply tell people about some of the things we like, in hope that you may like them too.
